Bildjournalen was the best and most popular youth magazine between 1954-69. It was way ahead of its time and offered a wide range of topics: rock and pop, charts, giant posters, movie and tv stars, beauty tips, fashion, novels, letters to the editors, series, and stories about society, current events, exciting personal destinies and dramatic happenings. There were almost no topics Bildjournalen wouldn't cover.
The magazine's journalists and photographers belonged to the Swedish elite. Many of them are well known profiles today: Cecilia Hagen, Staffan Heimerson, Anja Notini, Gunilla Pontén, Anders Engman and Bengt H Malmqvist just to name a few.
The world of music was mostly represented by Elvis, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Lill-Babs, Siw Malmkvist, Little Gerhard, Tages, Shanes, Hep Stars, Ola & The Janglers and all those other big artists at the time.
We, who have been youngsters in the 50s and 60s, love to remember Bildjournalen. It still is the magazine of our hearts and of course worth to be manifested in a book! The authors Börje Lundberg and Ammi Bohm have scrutinized every and each issue of Bildjournalen and picked out the goodies year by year. They interviewed many of the artists, journalists and photographers who played an important role for the magazine. The pictures in the book are as many as unique!
The book has more than 500 pages, where of 80 pages are an illustrated register of all issues of Bildjournalen. Complete with information about the content and all supplements. A valuation guide indicates which issues are coveted on the collectors market today.
