"Lyckliga Gatan" is an autobiographic novel about a forgotten idyll and the truth behind the schlager song "Lyckliga Gatan", written by Britt Lindeborg herself and sung by Anna-Lena Löfgren. The song, in fact became one of the best selling Swedish phonograph record of the 60ies.
Britt Lindeborg is the most successful Swedish songwriter of all times, and yet unknown to the national music culture. She was among the very first women who succeeded as a professional songwriter in the mans dominated music business of the 50ies and 60ies.
She married at a very young age and lived her life as a happy housewife. She began writing songs, when the TV show "Melodifestivalen" went public with searching new melodies at the end of the 50ies. In fact, her songs were represented 12 times in the festival, amongst these are hits like "Spela på regnbågen" and "Diggi Loo Diggi Ley". Last mentioned actually won at the Eurovision Song Contest in Luxemburg.
